Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Picks – Week 10 (Dec 8–14, 2025)

Week 10 is shaped by huge heavy nights and a couple of true off-night pockets:

  • Heavy nights: Tue / Thu / Sat (Thu/Sat are the big hammers)
  • True off-nights: Wed and especially Fri (lightest slates of the week)
  • Softer nights: Mon and Sun sit in the middle

We’re again trying to stack four-game teams that hit Wed/Fri and at least one of Mon/Sun, then plug in heavier slates where your roster has room.

Quick Jumpstart (early-week attack)

Early in the week (Mon–Wed), you can bank extra man-games before everyone else adjusts.

Teams with early-week opportunities for Dec 8–10:

Monday only
MIN — TOR — VAN

Mon + Tue
BUF — TBL

Mon + Wed
CGY — DET — LAK — SEA — UTM

Tue + Wed
(none this week)

Tip: Mon/Wed combos (DET/LAK/SEA/UTM/CGY) are premium. You get two lighter nights in three days, which makes even depth streamers startable in most formats.

High-Volume 4-GP (sorted by off-night leverage)

Your headline schedules for Week 10 focus on teams that lean into Wed/Fri off-nights.

Premium off-night 4-GP stacks (Wed/Fri-heavy)

These are your best shapes for bench-proof streaming:

  • Seattle KrakenMon/Wed/Fri/Sun
  • Utah Hockey ClubMon/Wed/Fri/Sun

Both clubs give you three off-nights (Mon/Wed/Fri) plus a Sunday closer. That’s as clean as it gets for Week 10 — ideal if your Tue/Thu/Sat are already jammed.

Strong hybrid 4-GP volume (mix of off-nights + heavies)

These teams blend some off-night leverage with big-slate exposure:

  • Buffalo SabresMon/Tue/Thu/Sun

  • Detroit Red WingsMon/Wed/Thu/Sat

  • Minnesota WildMon/Thu/Sat/Sun

  • Tampa Bay LightningMon/Tue/Thu/Sat

  • BUF and MIN offer nice Mon/Sun coverage with a couple of heavy-night touchpoints.

  • DET sneaks in a Wednesday off-night while still hitting Thu/Sat.

  • TBL leans heavier but still gives you a Monday opener.

If your roster can handle a bit more congestion on Thu/Sat, these are excellent four-game cores.

Heavy-night 4-GP (pure volume, less leverage)

These teams still bring four games, but most of their work is done on the busy nights:

  • Carolina HurricanesTue/Thu/Sat/Sun
  • Edmonton OilersTue/Thu/Sat/Sun
  • Montreal CanadiensTue/Thu/Sat/Sun
  • New Jersey DevilsTue/Thu/Sat/Sun
  • Philadelphia FlyersTue/Thu/Sat/Sun
  • Pittsburgh PenguinsTue/Thu/Sat/Sun

They’re ideal if your Tue/Thu/Sat still have room or if your league has daily roster moves with deep benches. In shallower formats, you’ll sometimes struggle to get all four games into your starting lineup.

Three-game teams worth a look

Most 3-GP teams this week are traditional Tue/Thu/Sat builds, but a few bring meaningful off-night help:

  • Calgary Flames (CGY)Mon/Wed/Sat
  • Chicago Blackhawks (CHI)Wed/Fri/Sat
  • Florida Panthers (FLA)Wed/Thu/Sat
  • Los Angeles Kings (LAK)Mon/Wed/Sat
  • St. Louis Blues (STL)Tue/Thu/Fri
  • Vancouver Canucks (VAN)Mon/Thu/Sun

Headline shapes:

  • CGY/LAK give you Mon + Wed off-nights plus a Saturday hammer.
  • CHI is sneaky with a Wed/Fri combo — nice for pure off-night streaming.
  • VAN supports Mon/Sun if you’re light on weekend games.
  • STL is more traditional but does sneak in a Friday off-night.

The rest of the 3-GP crowd are heavier builds:

  • Anaheim DucksTue/Thu/Sat
  • Boston BruinsTue/Thu/Sun
  • Columbus Blue JacketsTue/Thu/Sat
  • Dallas StarsTue/Thu/Sat
  • Colorado AvalancheTue/Thu/Sat
  • Nashville PredatorsTue/Thu/Sat
  • New York IslandersTue/Thu/Sat
  • Ottawa SenatorsTue/Thu/Sat
  • San Jose SharksTue/Thu/Sat
  • Toronto Maple LeafsMon/Thu/Sat
  • Vegas Golden KnightsTue/Thu/Sat
  • Winnipeg JetsTue/Thu/Sat

They’re still useful when you just need bodies on heavy nights, but they’re not first in line if your roster is already packed on those days.

Two-game warning

Only two teams play 2 GP this week:

  • New York RangersWed/Sat
  • Washington CapitalsThu/Sat

Unless we’re talking about elite, must-roster names, 2-GP streamers will generally lose out to four-game off-night targets. In most leagues:

  • NYR/WSH depth players → drop/stream.
  • Stars → hold, but don’t expect them to carry the week by themselves.

How to build your Week 10 stream plan

A simple framework:

  1. Start with Utah and Seattle

    • Treat UTM and SEA as your primary streaming cores: three off-nights plus a Sunday closer.
    • Fill Wed/Fri from these teams first, then plug gaps on Mon/Sun.
  2. Layer in hybrid 4-GP teams

    • Use BUF/DET/MIN/TBL to round out volume.
    • BUF/MIN are nice if you want Mon/Sun support; DET/TBL lean heavier but still give you an early-week start.
  3. Use 3-GP off-night helpers

    • When premium four-game options are gone, pivot to CGY/LAK/CHI/VAN/STL for Wed/Fri/Mon/Sun padding.
  4. Only then look at heavy-night 4-GP teams

    • CAR/EDM/MTL/NJD/PHI/PIT are perfect if your Tue/Thu/Sat still have space… but they’re bench risks otherwise.
  5. Match to your format

    • Banger leagues: prioritize teams whose typical streamers bring hits/blocks/PIM plus a decent shot floor.
    • Points leagues: chase PP time and top-six deployment on the four-game off-night squads.

Player Picks

Seattle Kraken (4 GP – Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun)

C/LW Jared McCann — Back from injury and immediately relevant again, with good shot volume and high point upside. Ideal if you need goals, PP exposure, and a strong shot floor spread across three off-nights and Sunday.

RW Jordan Eberle — Veteran winger with scoring potential and solid shot volume. A nice streaming option if you’re chasing points and want exposure to Seattle’s top-six.

LW/RW Eeli Tolvanen — Brings a decent shot and block floor with good hit volume. Perfect multi-cat winger who won’t disappear on you, even on quieter offensive nights.

D Adam Larsson — Offers a strong shot and hit floor with above-average blocks. Classic banger defenseman who quietly racks up peripherals over a four-game off-night-heavy slate.

Utah Hockey Club (4 GP – Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun)

D Sean Durzi — Since returning from injury, he’s seeing good deployment and brings a steady shot and hit floor with decent block upside. Strong target if you need offense from the blue line without punting peripherals.

D Ian Cole — Delivers high block upside and can soak up tough minutes. Great deep-league add if you’re specifically hunting blocks on off-nights.

C/LW Jack McBain — Provides a good shot floor with heavy hits, making him a prototypical banger-league forward. Four games on a prime schedule means those hits really add up.

LW/RW Lawson Crouse — Offers good shot volume with heavy hits as well. If you’re behind in hits or PIM but still want a chance at goals, Crouse is a strong plug-in this week.

Buffalo Sabres (4 GP – Mon/Tue/Thu/Sun)

D Mattias Samuelsson — Provides a decent shot and hit floor with high block upside. Great if you’re trying to maximize peripherals while Buffalo runs a four-game hybrid schedule.

LW/RW Josh Doan — Brings high shot volume and point potential. A nice upside add if you’re chasing goals and SOG across both off-nights and heavy slates.

C Josh Norriselite add if he can stay healthy. Even in shallower leagues, he’s the type of stash who can significantly boost your center depth once fully up to speed.

Detroit Red Wings (4 GP – Mon/Wed/Thu/Sat)

D Ben Chiarot — Offers high hit and block upside with penalty minutes mixed in. A pure banger special who can rack up peripherals over four games, including a key Wednesday off-night.

D Simon Edvinsson — Provides a solid shot and hit floor with decent blocks. Good option if you want a bit more offense potential than Chiarot while still supporting multi-cat builds.

C/LW Marco Kasper — Brings a good shot floor with decent hit volume, giving him a well-rounded streaming profile. Useful in deeper leagues where Detroit’s schedule lets him stay active.

Minnesota Wild (4 GP – Mon/Thu/Sat/Sun)

D Zeev Buium — Has been struggling of late, but still has power-play point upside. A high-ceiling, lower-floor add if you’re looking to gamble on PP production rather than safe peripherals.

RW Mats Zuccarello — Back from injury and playing top minutes alongside Kirill Kaprizov, with a decent shot floor and strong assist/point potential. Priority add in points and standard cats if he’s somehow available.

C/LW Yakov Trenin — Brings elite hit production, making him an excellent specialist if you’re chasing the hit category specifically. Four games give him plenty of runway to rack up volume.

D Jake Middleton — Offers decent hit and block averages with penalty-minute potential. Solid depth defenseman for banger formats; he won’t score much, but he’ll fill the gritty stats.

Tampa Bay Lightning (4 GP – Mon/Tue/Thu/Sat)

C Anthony Cirelli — Putting up decent points this year, even if he doesn’t excel in the peripheral categories. A fine streamer in points and standard cats if you need center depth and want cheap exposure to Tampa’s offense.

D Darren Raddysh — Has been filling in a top-pair / top-unit role with Victor Hedman out, averaging good shot volume and strong point production in Hedman’s absence. One of the better upside D streamers this week if his deployment holds.

Closing Notes (Quick Hits You Can Action)

  • SEA/UTM are your priority four-game targets — three off-nights plus Sunday is elite.
  • BUF/DET/MIN/TBL offer strong hybrid volume, especially if your Thu/Sat aren’t full yet.
  • Don’t sleep on CGY/LAK/CHI/VAN/STL as three-game off-night helpers if four-game options are gone.
  • Treat NYR/WSH depth pieces as expendable this week unless they’re star-level names.
  • Always re-check line combos, PP usage, and Yahoo roster % before you commit waiver moves.
